RAWtools’ spring fundraiser dinner on April 23 at 6 pm at Beth-El Mennonite Church with guest Speaker Shane Claiborne and special guest Laurie Works, along with musical guest Giants and Pilgrims ans First Strike Theatre. Come for an evening of food and fellowship as we recap the first three years of the work of RAWtools while sharing stories, listening to music and looking toward the future. 51% of the proceeds will benefit the new nonprofit Colorado Springs Resilience Center. The CSRC offers holistic resources for trauma survivors.

Keynote Speaker Shane Claiborne is an author, activist, and neighborhood enthusiast. Shane writes and travels extensively speaking about peacemaking, social justice, and Jesus. Shane’s books include Jesus for President, Red Letter Revolution, Common Prayer, Follow Me to Freedom, Jesus, Bombs and Ice Cream, Becoming the Answer to Our Prayers – and his classic The Irresistible Revolution. He has been featured in a number of films including “Another World Is Possible” and “Ordinary Radicals.” His books are translated into more than a dozen languages. Shane speaks over 100 times a year, nationally and internationally.
His work has appeared in Esquire, SPIN, Christianity Today, and The Wall Street Journal, and he has been on everything from Fox News and Al Jazeera to CNN and NPR. He’s given academic lectures at Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Liberty, Duke, and Notre Dame. Shane speaks regularly at denominational gatherings, festivals, and conferences around the globe. Laurie Works is founder and Executive Director of Colorado Springs Resilience Center, a new non-profit providing holistic resources to trauma survivors. She is also a community organizer, board member at Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission, and a yoga teacher at Root Center for Yoga and Sacred Studies. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
