Immigration Round Table, Sept 28-30

Sojourn Mennonite Church is the host congregation, and our conference SEED committee and MCC are sponsors.

We are not planning to provide complete child care options, but are glad to work with individual needs if you can let us know by September 14.


  • Friday, 6:00 p.m. reflection and prayer at ICE Detention Center, 3130 Oakland St, Aurora, CO 80010
    • Meet in front of the GEO sign on Oakland street.  There is street parking and the sign is right before the bridge that leads to the main entrance.

  • Saturday events at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Stover St. Fort Collins, CO 80525 (Parish Hall, the meeting location of host congregation Sojourn Mennonite)
  • Saturday morning Round Table sharing
    • 8:00 coffee and bagels
    • 8:30 welcome and introductions
    • 9:00-12:00 Round Table presentations by MSMC ministries related to immigrant justice
    • 12:00 lunch provided on site
  • Saturday afternoon and evening follow up:
    • 1:00-5:00 afternoon panels
      • Legislative issues (Tammy Alexander, MCC Washington Office)
      • Legal issues (Delores Blough, James Madison University, and attorneys among us)
      • Perspectives from south of the border (friends among us)
      • What is happening in the Mennonite church more broadly (MCC representatives)
      • Discussion of next steps, how we should stay connected.
    • 5:30-6:30 dinner provided on site
    • 7:00-9:00 evening worship and reflection
  • Sunday, open for the leading of the spirit to organize a focused discussion group, attend a front-range worship service, or get an early start for the journey home.
