Snow Camps
This year we had snow during snow camps and even beautiful weather to enjoy being outside in it! For Junior High Snow Camp, we had over 100 youth and sponsors attend coming from Colorado and Kansas churches. It was a busy weekend with every bed available in use (even putting volunteers in our staff houses!). Dustin Galyon (Hesston, KS) was the speaker for the worship times and poured his energy into the youth to be excited about life and living for Christ.
Senior High Snow Camp had representation from Kansas and Colorado churches as well. The youth took advantage of the nice weather and had a lot of fun playing outdoors. Some youth, sponsors, and camp staff took a hike to Raspberry Mountain, others battled it out on the ice playing broomball, and many enjoyed sliding down the tube run. Glen Guyton (San Antonio, TX) Chief Operating Officer of MCUSA, lead the weekend worship times exploring our identity in who God has called us to be.
Young Adult Snow Camp brought together many people from around the state of Colorado and even a few from as far away as Indiana and Illinois. Many of the area service units (Service Adventure, Mennonite Voluntary Service, and DWELL) attended the weekend. The DWELL unit from Denver (part of Mennonite Mission Network) lead the worship times talking about the appropriate topic of vocation. The Alamosa MVS unit lead music during the weekend. The evening hymn sing was a highlight with many voices being raised in song together. There was also time for playing broomball, tube run, playing games, and hanging out with one another.
You’ve Been Spotted!
We spotted Connor Compton (Buhler, KS) wearing his RMMC t-shirt. Connor is picture here in Branson, MO at a fish restaurant with his Uncle John from Ireland. Connor and his family (pictured) also went to see the Acrobats of China while in Branson and struck a pose with his RMMC shirt and some Chinese characters from the show. Thanks, Connor, for sharing RMMC with Branson, MO! Share your “spotted” photo with us. Email it to jenelle@rmmc.org
