Romanos 12:2

APPRECIATION

We are physically separating and everything has been paralyzed; the question is, how long??  No one knows and uncertainty becomes present about the future.  Like many today we have made the decision to return home. All our educational meetings and exercises are done through technology, so that’s not going to limit us from continuing to look for creative and innovative ways to continue.

We trying to escape, we simply advanced the timeline through May since the churches and any face-to-face meetings have been cancelled due to the physical distancing we are experiencing. So, we can see the body of Christ sheltering at home and gathering through technology.  However, that doesn’t prevent us from concluding well everything we started.

We thank the directors and administrators of the Mountain States Conference for all the legal and financial processes they did to get us there.  Also to the Ministry Support Team for supporting our Intercultural ministry

We thank the Beloved Community as our first welcoming church for giving us the opportunity to learn together about the importance of dreaming and giving direction to the intercultural church project, iglesia intercultural; it is now in its hands to make it possible.

We thank Gayla Stowe, she taught us the culture in Colorado throughout the year, how to get around in the city, and she always made sure that we lacked absolutely nothing, our translator and teacher from English to English.

We thank the Leaders and Pastors of the Mountain States Conference who invited us to their churches to sow seeds of Interculturality. Thank you for the good dialogue in Spaningles, and all the brothers and sisters who shared of your home, food, recreation, family, and good discussion.

We thank Casa de Paz and all its volunteers with which we team up every Thursday; we do not say names for fear of forgetting some since they were all very important, and especially every immigrant from so many places on our planet that were released from the GEO Detention Center trusting and relying on our work to reach their final destination. Thank you to Sarah Jackson for the opportunity to serve in this space that has been transcendental for our Intercultural training.

Let us stand down to the people who engaged with us in this Community of Peace in Movement, it was a model to show how to form community and break down with barriers that can produce nationality, culture, language or anything else that separates people. These were the seeds of interculturality that we sow; let it be the Spirit of God who makes it to grow.

Let us heed Paul’s call to us:  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…  Romans 12:2
